Stephen McCrory

Chairman

Stephen is that rare breed, a triathlete who can actually ride a bike in a straight line. In September 2023 he cycled the length of the Rhine. This sounds more ambitious than it actually is: it's all downhill - because water only flows downhill. He is agnostic about bicycle types, switching between his road bike, his hybrid, his Brompton when commuting, or his wife's ebike when he's tired.

Michael Allen

Treasurer

Michael wants to see more families to swap cars for bikes, promoting the environmental and health benefits of biking together.

You might see him on his cargo bike during the school run, enjoying the fresh air and freedom it brings.

Keith Lilley

Social Media Coordinator

Like Nathan, Keith has adopted multi-modal travel to commute into Belfast from Bangor.

He knows how to read a map - which he should, given that the Royal Geographical Society commended him for "advancing geographical knowledge through GIS* and mapping."

*whatever that is

Jonny Hall

Secretary

Jonny is a primary school teacher at Kilcooley Primary School and a firm believer that most of life's problems look a little smaller from the saddle of a bike.

Passionate about getting people of all ages cycling, he champions the benefits of two wheels for improving wellbeing, building independence, strengthening relationships, and creating more connected communities.

Whether it's a short trip to the shops or a family adventure, he believes every bike ride is a step towards healthier people and happier places.

John Wright

Publicity Officer

John has forgotten more about Belfast traffic issues than most DfI employees have ever known. He goes everywhere on his bike and has a clean driving license - because he doesn't own a car. John is a very active and effective environmental campaigner.
