Iwona Zakierska

At 7.45am on August 3rd 2011, Iwona was killed by a lorry turning left onto North road. Described by her friends as a hardworking woman from the Polish country side, she had moved to Belfast a few years earlier. After her death her remains were repatriated to the care of her parents for burial.

Iwonas Ghost Bike was the second to be installed in Northern Ireland.
